Mark Wood was pretty critical in interview last night. Obviously the dank conditions in almost every game would also have had an effect of maintaining the balls original condition but further research is required. At present it's use is near to farcical.

Ian Westwood of Warks has retired.

Not much play in prospect today.

Our guys were suggesting it was like playing with the balls used in the indoor nets bowling machine.

Saying it's stopped raining at the Rosebowl and the grounds that is mopping up.

I wouldn't bother, there's more on the way and it's even heavier!

Another ton for Cook. Feels like he'll score heavily for England this season.

Yorkshire v Surrey the first to be rained off. Hard to see much chance there of a manufactured result, without a lot of gimme bowling.

Yorkshire bat as usual for the 1st hour, both sides declare and Yorkshire are set 400 to win off 78 overs.

That's 90 runs in the first hour. Whatever happens, Yorks will have to get 490 in the day. Can't see that without some declaration bowling.

Surprised the Durham game hasn't been called off.

Teaming down all day, forecast has rain all night. No point keeping the players there most of the night till the umpires confirm the inevitable.

Maybe my idea of what is possible is a bit old fashioned though.

Looks like it's changed direction because they are somehow playing.

Has been raining down the road non stop for 36 hours!
