Not a fan of this pink ball at all, behaves so much differently to other balls and ruins the balance between bat and ball.
The pink ball just hangs in the air when bowling, almost like a windball. If a pace bowler who bowls remotely short/wide, a batsman will pick him off. The art and craft of spin is affected because the ball gets very little flight. The pink ball is not easy to see when pitched at the wicket, or travelling around 25ft off the ground so fielders are losing sight of the ball rather easily.
Not only the pink ball dulls, but the leather gets blistered at 40 overs old like a cheap tacky £3 Slazenger cork ball from Sports Direct. I've bowled an £8 Kookaburra red ball at 38 overs old in a club cricket match the other Saturday in better condition than those monstrosities.
Hindsight is such a wonderful thing, but maybe England should have organised a Day/Night test against Ireland or Afghanistan instead of playing a round of Day/Night Championship games.
