In an interview with Cricinfo, he said that the captaincy impacted his form and enjoyment of the game.

He's crap at the moment then. Boycott says he's good so he must be.

Lees has talent...IMO he was given captaincy role far too early which messed with his mind and tried to adapt his game to the captaiincy, when he should have been left to score runs which he was doing with ease before he was handed a captaincy role..

You may well be correct and Boycott bulling him up at an earl age would also have added pressure.

So we have a County who were heading for bankruptcy before being propped up by FTECB chairman's millions luring players whom another county has spent time and money on his development. A player when out of contract is free to go where he likes but surely substantial compensation should be paid to the club which has developed him.

Not the first occurrences of this.

Surrey at least only have them a smidgeon before retirement.

Dunno about that? Borthwick is 27 year old and Stoneman 29 year old. Oddly enough we're not missing them,it's injuries to bowlers that's hitting.

Think that those two are a stark break with Surrey transfer tradition though.

Another great day for Benco, and for Yorks too. Just need another 200+ runs tomorrow.

Yorks collapsing a bit. Looks like the lead should be handy rather than matchwinning.

Seems to have gone a bit under the radar but, Hameed is having an abysmal start to the season which doesn't bode well for the Tests later in the summer. Also seems as if Jennings has fallen off some after a blistering start to the season. Triple L made another ton for the Lions today and surely can't be far away from a call up in one of the formats by the end of the season.

Huge and convincing win for Yorks. Should instil some confidence after a very strong team performance.
