Wood not playing for Durham. He's been told to rest ahead of the England v Ireland one day games.

I think the ECB are taking the cautious approach given his injury history. Although the first one dayer was rained off during the first innings so he has only bowled in 1 of the opening 2 games,

Patterson is in for Willey too. I reckon that's a late correction. Looks like all the England pace bowlers have been left out. Bad news. Presume Woakes and Stokes will be resting in the IPL.

Great start for Durham, but those withdrawals have transformed the attack. :(

I can just about understand Wood missing the game but there is surely no reason to rest the other England quicks. The matches against Ireland are hardly high profile must-win games. I'd have used that series to blood some youngsters.

Not a lot. Richardson seems to prosper with the bat since he no longer takes the gloves and perhaps relishes the extra responsibility since Stoneman and Borthwick have gone. Meanwhile Jennings is showing the selectors he has to be considered for a place in England's top three.

Looks like about 330 for Durham, which should win about 70% of the time. But if the Yorks top five can bat for all the overs they should win.

they can't really, because the squad for the CT has been announced. They pretty much have to use the series against Ireland as a warm up series for the CT players
