No way out of this for Yorks. Two defeats out of three suggests a long hard season.

Long way to go in this game. You could bat forever in your second innings plus the last 4 wickets could easily put on 200 on this pitch if you factor our 10th wicket partnership into the equation.

Obviously I'd rather they didn't!

Only way out of this is if Hants don't enforce the follow on and leave Yorks four sessions to save the game. Even then, a slender chance. Given the pitch is very flat, that has been horrendous collapse.

Tim is out.

Bad weather would help. They can start by getting off now. It's twenty to seven.

I imagine Jack Leaning and Andrew Hodd will be tutting away at the England boys no show performances.

If the ECB wanted Root and Bairstow to get their eye in, then play in the 2nd XI friendly against Gloucestershire and not use a major competition as match practice.

Though it's true that most of the rest of the top six also failed. I was happy for the England players to feature, and having Rashid back has been a boost. See how they do second time around.

The Ageas pitch seems to get flatter and flatter as the match goes on, so I fully expect a draw, but can still hope

perhaps it's the Tories fault for cutting funding at head groundskeeper school. After all, it can't be right having class sizes of 36 student groundskeepers

thank god for Groundskeeper Grammar school.... that'll fix it

Early wicket as Rashid goes. Hopefully Hants will elect to bat again.

As long as it doesn't result in an England recall where he would revert to being a nervous wreck.

He and Vince should be a few seasons away from another possible go in Tests. Maybe Duckett too.
