Congratulations go to Chris Hartley on becoming the wicketkeeper with the most dismissals in Sheffield Shield history.

He equalled Darren Berry's record of 546 on Thursday, and yesterday when he caught Simon Milenko off the bowling of Michael Neser during the second session, he went one better. Earlier in the match he scored his 10th 1st class century.

As a young player, he was destined to be the Aus wikkie, but he has never made it to play for Australia in any format. He did play 3 games for Aus A. Now in his 14th year for Queensland, he is likely to keep this record for some time - no current state 'keeper is within cooee of him (Wade is on 278).

Queensland's refusal to be a team relying on spinners is illustrated well by his tally's breakdown - of his record 547 dismissals, only 15 are stumpings.

Worrying incident in the SA/Vic Sheffield Shield match.

Vic wickie Sam Harper was hit in the head with the bat from a Jake Lehmann shot (slog-sweep, I think). He was standing up to the spinner. From what I remember hearing on the radio, he went down immediately, got up and collapsed again. As he was standing at the stumps, he was wearing a helmet.

I have no idea of his state of health right now, but he was taken to hospital.

I hope that he recovers well.

Latest from Cricinfo
Harper was examined at Adelaide Oval by medical staff before being transferred to hospital for further assessment and treatment," a Cricket Victoria spokesman said. "Harper underwent scans this afternoon which have not identified any bleeding or bone damage, but he will remain in hospital overnight for observation.

Interesting article on Scott Boswell; a bowler back from the psychological brink http://www.palatinate.org.uk/i-went-thr ... t-boswell/
"It has been said of the unseen army of the dead, on their everlasting march, that when they are passing a rural cricket ground the Englishman falls out of the ranks for a moment to look over the gate and smile."

Do Shield games get streamed anywhere? Wouldn't mind watching a bit whilst he's bowling.

Assuming you have a smartphone or tablet, register for the Cricket Australia app. They show some live domestic action, though I am sure if it covers this weeks set of matches.
"Stats are there to be broken" Dominic Cork
"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott
