Rodgers has made Celtic better in Europe.

City struggling again. Pep really does have his work cut out.

And as it stands Arsenal are topping their group. Not sure that has happened for a very long time.

I always felt Liverpool treated Rodgers shabbily. He got Liverpool into the champions league which is something Liverpool have not done since he left.

Lucas perez!
:clap
That's his hat trick.

Iwobi makes it 4-0.

Think Saurez had a lot to do with Liverpool finishing in the top 4. Once he went, so did Rodgers results.

Liverpool look good for a top 4 finish this year. And Klopp has them playing well, with out a Saurez.

I know it was their second string side but City were awful last night. They should be putting four or five past a side like Celtic at home.

Well he only got sacked last season with Liverpool languishing somewhere like 13th in the league, so Klopp had no chance to get them up last year, and in his first full year has them 4 points away from top with a significant amount of the season left.

Spending 35 million on Benteke killed Rodgers.

good win for arsenal last night

looking at the groups there is almost as much chance getting a tough draw as a winner as they would have had if they had finished second tho but at least they have done everything they could

lucas scoring was a good sign for them imo as playing the system they are you need the wide players to be contributing with goals too and even tho he didn't have to do much for the hat-trick just being in the right place at the right time is a good skill to have

It now looks like Leicester bubble might have burst in Europe as well.

They are into the next round as top of the table. A team finishing second in their group will look forward to the Leicester tie.

The 30 mil Chelsea paid for Kante looks like an absolute bargain now.

United could get 3 Kante's for 1 Pogba. :box

On paper, maybe, but how many teams left in the Champions League have the luxury of being able to forget every single fixture after the new year and rest all their players for one tie? All the other teams will be locked into Championship battles. PSG arent top, Bayern arent top, Arsenal/City arent top, and for once Juventus havent won the Italian league by December and are only one win away from Roma.

When it gets to February, and there are leagues to win and teams simply cant rest players, the last thing you want is a motivated and fully rested team with nothing to lose.

Leicester might well be trying to stay in the premiership. Presently 16th in the league. And they have some pretty big games coming up. If they can climb to mid table before the next leg of European games then yes they will be fully rested.

But looking at their fixture list, it could be a pretty tough couple of months coming up.

Arsenal top their group, and they get Bayern Munich....

Manchester City come second in their group, and they get Monaco....
:?
Talk about the luck of the draw. If Guardiola is as good as they say he is, then he should be able to get his team past Monaco. After all, last season Pellegrini took Man City to the semis.
8-)
Leicester's good draw continues...up against Sevilla.
