England need to bowl India out today or they'll probably lose. But once you get past Kohli, if they do, things should get easier.

I'd guess Rashid is about to come on for Mo.

England need a drinks break so they can get some Fanta onto the ball.

guy at the other end is about to reach his hundred, patel batted pretty well in the last game and we have struggled to get ashwin out, so whilst getting kohli would obviously help there is a bit of depth

Yes. Kohli's a class apart, but they'll toil to get the others too. They'll lose slower though.

I'm sure Hope has picked up on Mo going round the wicket.

100 up for vijay

good innings after a couple of poor tests

cook's captaincy confuses and concerns me, ok rashid had a poor day yesterday but moeen hasn't looked particularly threatening this morning and they've scored pretty easy off him, but here we are 3/4 of the way through the session and rashid hasn't been given a bowl yet with ali bowling the whole session so far from that end

Still waiting.

Shastri reckons the roller will stop the ball for turning for a while, which may be why Anderson and Rashid were held back. But for how long? The new Ball will be up soon, and Anderson may have been waiting until some cutters would grip, but he'll be needed for that.

Well done to VJ. Nice player.

No. even if the spinners are bowling badly, you'd expect an occasional magic ball on this pitch, but it hasn't happened.

Anderson got a little reverse wobble off one ball.
