Yes, but Cook is the most successful batsman to have toured India.

Joe is Englands second best. We need his wicket now.

Mike Brearly on TMS using the word stakeholders, uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. I hate this modern jargon that grows like topsy. Colateral damage in war (killing civilians.).
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

But right now, Root is our best bat. Cook's best days could be behind him.

always impressive how england debutants do well in india even though majority of the selectors are reluctant to throw them in in india.

i've always hated the word proactive, i worked in a project management/consultancy type job for all of the 90s and it really started cropping up then, and you could usually always mark someone as an imbecile if they used it alot

yeah Root the best bat now for england, not sure if Ather meant to write this or it was a mistake but few days ago for some odd reason he said Cook is a better Captain and better player now then he was in 2012 yet he mentioned Cook looks vulnerable and looks trouble by Ashwin.
Ok a better captain but then it wasn't that hard to improve on that aspect and you really should be improving anyway but not sure you can claim Cook to be better batsman now considering Cook was averaging 70+ during 2010-2012.
never actually maintained a 50+ average otherwise in his career.

impressive stat this.
Jadeja to Cook this series:
48 runs
148 balls
3 dismissals
Cook stats to Ashwin not that great either for this series, probably first time in his career Cook struggling with spin.
can't be said to be rank turner either.

Yes, he is the highest scorers for England in this series:

1. Joe
2. Cook.
3. Ben.
4. Johnny

Good to see Jennings make runs on debut. Continued success would make things a tad difficult for the selectors, Jennings should have been in the squad over Hameed and Duckett in the first place as the highest run scorer in Division 1 of the LVCC.

More propaganda than jargon.

I remember Giles apologising to the stakeholders of English cricket after they got knocked out of the WCT20... Didn't endear him to many.

Joe's England's best bat, not just in terms of weight of runs, but in range and versatility of play.

Apart from Keats of course.

This should be a cracking Test match, Mumbai usually one of the best pitches in india, great for batting, good bounce for the fast men and fast turn and bounce for the spinners.
fast scoring ground as well.
Crazy how England didn't consider a 3rd specialist spinner for the last two test with Chennai also known for being very conducive to the spin.
England again picking 10 players with one player hardly doing anything.

India bowling though they always bowl their overs or generally bowl more overs than required.
Jadeja being quick and not really many bowlers or fielders that waste time.
