nasser agrees with me

doesn't see the point in having a 4th seamer in these conditions so why not just play another batsman

One of the seamers will be playing as a batter. Probably Ball.

Presumably batting first gives England a little edge.

on a pitch thats expected to break up its certainly a better option than having to bat last

thats been where the whole nonsense about the toss has been completely taken out of context by a certain poster

winning the toss in these situation improves your chances but doesn't guarantee anything

it just means instead of maybe having a 1 in 20 chance of winning if you had lost the toss, its now 1 in 10

just seeing the aerial shot of how close this ground is to the sea, dont think it will be quite as chilly as a saturday afternoon in arbroath or hartlepool tho

It's an advantage, but it's not definitive.

Odd looking Indian side.

I like the suggestion that Jake Ball is in for his batting, it always good to start the day with a guffaw.

Good for England that Shami isn't playing, I guess.

Not for my FL team though, a 4 man team again suggests a return to last place. Unless Vijay gets his finger out.

Cook's attempt at positivity/aggression looks terrible, even worse than when he's defensive.
