Kent have signed Gidman on a full time basis after he was on loan there at the end of last season. The Notts move certainly didn't work out for him, tough break but at least he's found somewhere to get his career back on track.

Derbyshire have picked up Tahir as their overseas which looks a great signing for them.

The ECB have gone f-ing mad.

I can't see how is that logistically possible when there is a 9 day turnover time between the 4th South African test and the floodlit West Indies test.

It doesn't say that the day/night CC games would be scheduled immediately before the floodlit test, even though that would be logical. I think August is given over completely to domestic T20 in any case. Presumably the floodlights CC games will be scheduled earlier in the season -illogical but it is an ECB initiative after all. Times reporting that they'll probably be scheduled late June.

Considering how few Test players are allowed to play county cricket who will benefit, the likely spectators maybe. Additionally, if the test players are allowed to play, the test squad comes from about 9 counties, will they all play day night games.

One of the greats. Won't play for Pakistan again.

Though as Amir is playing, I'm not seeing that as justifiable.

There's already been rumours of Salman Butt returning so i wouldn't rule anything out just yet.

Amir and Asif are different kettle of fish, one held their hands up and admitted guilt straight away, the other tried to protest innocence until every single avenue was dried up, heck he even went to the CAS to try and get it overturned before he finally admitted he'd done something wrong. Let's not forget he's been banned for using drugs in the past too.

If Butt comes back then Pakistani cricket has lost every shred of respect and decency.

Neither admitted guilt. Amir denied the accusation into court and as long as feasible. And until he would be better served by changing his story. I wouldn't have had either back, but given Amir is, there's no strong reason against Asif. My view at least.

I'm fairly sure Amir pleaded guilty when it went to court and has served his time out of the game without complaint. Asif on the other hand tried every single option to get his ban overturned.

This hasn't been batting around in my head and thought I'd look up his figures for Pakistan's next opponents.

5/67
