Championship going to be won by a team with 6 wins..... I wonder how many sporting competitions are won by a team with a 35% win ratio?

Superb day so far. Still a bit apprehensive about the Middx lower order batting though, if Yorks get to it. It's going to be tough all the way down.

Either that, or they accept defeat and play for a draw..... which would be hilarious.

Maybe score 100 of both the first 2 sessions then try to set a difficult ODI style chase about tea tomorrow?

Decent chance Durham will end with one win fewer, yet have flirted with relegation more meaningfully than the title.

I think Warwickshire won it once with only 6 wins. The rest were draws.

As a neutral I'd love to see Somerset win, bit if the Tykes pull it off, having given so much to England over the summer, then fair play

Sounds like the ECB's policy of giving the toss to the away team has worked incredibly well then. :facepalm

I have all but stopped caring about the County Championship. Its so unbelieveably poor managed, its simply not relevant as a competition anymore.

6 wins out of 16 wins you the title.... and people want to make tests 4 days.

Nick Gubbins pushing his average North of 40....

Suprised he hasnt been a name mentioned. Div 1, had a good season, has a solid career average..

Somerset have completed the formality of a win. Middx scoring at two runs per over...

Somerset are leaders in clubhouse as Notts succumb like sheep to the slaughter. Notts have been atrocious this season almost to the level of Northants a couple of years ago. It would be quite something if both Notts and Warks end up in Div 2 next year. Division 2 had two big test venues the Oval and Lords for several years maybe Trent Bridge and Edgbaston are set to replace them.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Could be that they're happy to set Yorks 200 from 22 overs, say.
