Notts look doomed. This fightback might well finish them off.

The wheels really have come off Lancashire's season somewhat.

I feel they need an established opener as they have a number of players playing out of position to try and force an opener from lower down the batting order. They still do have some batsmen who I would consider not of Division One standards yet. Seems odd they do t have an overseas player.

Now Wagner is away with New Zealamd it seems like Kyle Jarvis is carrying the bowling attack single handed too.

Yorkshire seamers on top on day two, with Notts 61-6, and three wickets for Sidebottom. But importantly, Read out for seven.

They bat down to ten though so capacity left for a recovery.

Two to get, but the follow on is looming into view. Might be tempting given 18 wickets have fallen in under four sessions, though either way would be attractive.

Hampshire going well.

Unbeaten 35 for Pontefract's David Wainwright on his Hants debut. Still only 31.

Notts bundled out for 94 and the follow on not enforced.

A sensible decision by interim skipper Gary Ballance - there is every chance Notts can be 220-5 at stumps, post a game changing late wicket stand and blast Yorkshire out for 100 just like Good Friday 2011.

Yorks set Notts 450 in five sessions. A much more generous target than Yorks have been getting this season!

One and a half sessions wiped out due to the weather and play is done for the day.

Yorkshire bagging 3 wickets, but young Tom Moores outperforming his batting counterparts, currently on 41 not out.

Specific examples would give that claim credibility. Can't recall any opposition scoring sufficient to set that target.

Lot riding on this result for Ballance.

If you were to be ungenerous it looks an awful lot like with heavy rain forcast and losing half a day already the stand-in captain batted on till he reaches his century and then declares.

In the end, Yorkshire make relatively light of getting the last seven wickets as Notts were bowled out for 143. Not before a super sopper was transported from Headingley to Scarborough to ensure play began on time due to overnight rain.

Return to bowling form for Tim, with eight wickets in the match. Rafiq only bowled one over in the game (but made a valuable 74 in the first innings) so a great game for the seam machine.

Poor performance from Notts though. Must be a bit demoralising.

A win like that underlines why Yorkshire are champions. Not sure what's up with Notts, on paper they look a good side but seem to be imploding.
