The ECB have said that if England go ahead with the visit to BD, the players will be given the option of not touring without penalty. Same as in India in 2001 when Foster, Dawson made debuts and Ball, Ormond and Johnson toured.

Woakes having the kind of devastating, promising breakthrough summer Richard Ellison had in 1985.

Me referring to Ellison, is the same time span as someone referring to the 1948 Australians in the summer I first started watching cricket. Scary.

A generous 9 run over gift to go to lunch with.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Crucial session ahead? If England knock over the tail they are still well in the game. If Pakistan are batting at tea, the game will be gone?

I think this game maybe gone anyway, England seen lacking energy in the field. Vince is alive and woakes, Finn, Broad and Bairstow excepted. Jimmy looks as if he would rather be anywhere other than at the Oval and when things are not going England's way Cook always looks vacant.

Anything more than 125 and the game is gone

Barring a miracle

The odds on us making 400+ in the 3rd innings again must be low

Except England came back last time with quite a bit to spare, and Pakistan gave way rather easily. It didn't feel like a one-in-a-million event.

Looking bad...and then Cook (preoccupied thinking about the situation ? Shouldn't be in slip then) drops one off Moeen :(

Then two balls later Moeen's got Wahab stumped...

Up ...and down... But Pakistan's lead is growing very healthy : can England do a Houdini twice in a row ?

Maybe not : pitch seems good again , and we know they can wear Pakistan down. Trouble is , 400 might not be enough...

Also scary is the fact that Ellison then disappeared as fast as he came up...

Hope you aren't hexing Woakes :)

Cook continues with Moeen, someone should tell him crowd catches don't count.
