Well moeen is a batsman who bowls part time

He bowls more for England than he does for his county

yet the English management thinks he is front line spinner.
Crazy england haven't tried anyone before india or bangladesh.
Rashid or any spinner needs overs in their belt before india.
would take time for any spinner to adapt for the conditions.
Even now Lyon doesn't know how to bowl in the subcontinent

surely more question should be asked about the batting or the pakistani seam men not sure what the spinners can do more than be economical and secure an end.

England batting first in the last three tests has given Yasir no chance

He needs to be bowling last really like at lords

exactly.

So its agreed that Ali will replace Vince in the batting order, and an actual spinner will come into the team?

Mo Ali taking his batting record to Stokes level now. A 5-for with the ball, and he will probably have a better career record in both formats.

Soft end to a good innings from Bairstow. He needs to move up the order, should be batting 5 as a minimum given his current form. Another chance for Woakes to make a point with his batting.

Up to that wicket, Ali was out-Bairstowing Bairstow.

Well, he's not out at present, so that's not a true reflection of what his average will be.

Much like Stokes, Ali needs to be in the middle order to get the best out of his batting. It would be entirely feasible to have Stokes and Ali at 5 / 6 without weakening the batting bringing Rashid and Woakes at 7 / 8.

TBH having stokes 5,Ali 6, Rashid 7 and woakes 8 does have a fragile look to it if the ball moves think bowlers would be confident to get all 4 out cheaply really.
long term only really 2 or 3 of Ali, Rashid, Woakes or Stokes can play especially if their batting or bowling is actually average.
having 4 players averaging around 30 with bat and 35-40 won't win many games at least 2 of them need to be averaging 40 + with the bat and the other 2 need to average 25-35 with the ball.

at the moment Ali, Stokes are bits and pieces cricketers.
Woakes been actually good, prefer all rounders that are actually good at one discipline than being average at both discipline.
Rashid hasn't played much so can't comment on his international career.
