If England batsmen had applied themselves in the manner Cook and Root have displayed today he would not have looked so good at Lords and certainly not taken 10 wickets. The question is, have Vince, Balance and Stokes got the patience to play him this way.
yeah England lost at the ground which suited the pakistan team the least amount and loss to pakistan in the game where in general the pace men were not at their best.
now they have to play pakistan in 3 grounds which would help them more.
Although do think Yasir more of a dangerous spinner than Warne because of DRS, Imho Yasir essentially Kumble but with DRS would be harder to play him now if the ball does actually turn since he then spins it 3 ways with his leg break, more turn, less turn and no turn, doesn't even have to bowl any googlies or variations to trouble batsman.
england got to a mess in lords because they played for the turn when he didn't turn it in the first innings.
A bit early to be saying he is more dangerous than Warne lol
This is only his second test outside of Asia
He is very similar to kumble though from what I'v seen
Good point but really meant in terms of LBW.
basically Yasir shah got slightly more chances to take wickets than Kumble and Warne did in the first innings.
Doesn't mean Y shah is better than Warne, but because of DRS he is more dangerous in the first innings than Warne, kumble etc.
Also got to remember batsman had to change the technique they used against spin because of the DRS.
in the past batsman essentially cheated against Warne and Kumble by not using the bat and essentially pretending to play a shot and really kicking the ball with the pad.
Yasir Shah is really the first world class leggie since the DRS introduction as well so should be fascination to see if DRS does play a part in his success.
Swann was far more dangerous with the DRS as well.
