Bresnan refusing singles by all accounts, as Yorkshire aim for the 300 run mark.

Stoneman seems to often get out for modest scores after making a start.

Borthwick out now. Turning into a good day for Yorks.

Big wicket for Lyth.

Will Surrey continue to bat on or declare? Looking at 350-400 in day with the 5 overs left

Good morning for Durham. I'd guess Yorks are missing a spinner.

Lancs young leg spinner takes 5 wickets on debut while Warks young leg spinner watches from the dressing room. So far at least 8 wickets have fallen to spin (maybe 3 more if Tom Smith was in his spin mode) in the first 5 sessions on a ground where spin is often successful. I wonder if Warks might rue their decision.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Can always rely on Paul Collingwood to lead a Durham fightback.

Yes, the four seamer experiment didn't work well. Was surprised to see no Karl Carver in Yorkshire's CC squad when he has bowled rather well in white ball cricket.

Durham scoring slowly though, so they won't have much of a lead before the second new ball. I'd settle for a wicket before then.

Should Durham bat out the day and it's not entirely out of the question, they could possess a lead of around 260-280. I reckon that may well be enough to test an underfiring Yorkshire batting order.

Williamson gets Collingwood, but wickets coming slowly. Maybe a target of 200-250 feels likely, unless the new ball is decisive.

Depends on Jennings I guess. If he goes, the tail will be under pressure. If he hangs around they can dig in while he adds runs. Hundred up for Jennings, but Tim has the new ball.
