Waitrose are stopping sponsoring England. I read the ECB wanted them to double their fee to continue.

Good on Waitrose TBH, i'd be demanding the ECB to show matches Free to Air if they wanted more cash.

Confirmation that from 2017 it'll be a 8 team division 1 and 10 team division 2 County Championship so only one promotion place up for grabs this year.

It'll be interesting how they decide the division 2 fixtures, 14 matches means each team won't play all of the others twice.

If they have any sense, and to keep things fair to all, they should play each other once, then decide who plays whom a second time based on league position, to avoid promotion boiling down to which teams played Leics twice and which played them once.

they don't have any sense, of course, so I've just wasted my time typing that out

What i don't understand is why the One Day Cup is in April and May... I know there's the Champions Trophy soon after but conditions will be completely different and it's not going to help for World Cup preparation.

There'll be some low scoring games playing so early in the season!

But the present 50 over format is far too much in favour of the batsman so perhaps early season bowler friendly pitches might help to redress the balance.

Yes, good point. Pendulum has swung in favour of the batsmen in recent years.
