Yep they should be in their own division of one. Will probably put out the third eleven against us and still win by an innings.

That's it, a most convincing season after a slowish start. Well done to Jason Gillespie and the team. Nobody really challenged after the mid-season break. The pace attack has been been superb, and Bairstow has carried the batting, with Tim's help, when necessary. No need for any nerves.

Leaning has had a very fine season with the bat, scoring 785 runs in 12 matches over 19 innings.

Session wise throughout the season, Yorkshire did not win as many as the league table would suggest. Durham had Yorkshire on the ropes in both matches, but took freak responses to maintain order. Any other season, any other team Durham would have won at least one match.

Worcestershire also challenged Yorkshire in both games, posted 311 in their 1st innings and had Yorkshire 194-7 in reply but Bresnan and Sidebottom got Yorkshire to parity, followed by Brooks and Patterson tearing into Worcestershire's batting order before Yorkshire won by 10 wickets. Also were 1 run away from avoiding the follow on at Scarborough, another pair of fixtures where Worcestershire might have got points out of given any other team and season. Middlesex had Yorkshire 96-6 at Headingley, in reply to 212 and made the run chase interesting. Warwickshire had an opportunity to beat Yorkshire at Headingley in late April, but somehow didn't.

In all, a phenomenal campaign by Yorkshire and more so when so many obstacles have been in the way with several players being on international duty.

Andrew Gale being able to collect the County Championship trophy at the home of cricket after being banned from doing so at Trent Bridge last year, out of spite, has a certain ring of irony.

They are just cases of Yorkshire being challenged though Al, which you'd expect to happen at times. That early season Worcs game, Yorkshire had a lot of squad players in the team, and Yorks were doing well to compete (though Pujara is a good squad player) and won by ten wickets.

Absolutely Arthur, i'm looking at it from an oppositions perspective that for all Yorkshire's dominance they were never that far away from getting a result.

I expect next year to be tough, least of all from the promoted sides that Surrey look a good outfit on paper and Lancashire under Ashley Giles are a team not to be underestimated. On the flip side, Yorkshire should start next seasons County Championship campaign with a stronger team. Lyth and Ballance likely to play the first game, possibly Bairstow, Plunkett and Rashid depending on their involvement in the World Twenty20.

And the younger players coming through have a season in them. And hopefully Alex Lees will get put this season behind him.
