to be selected for 100 test matches you have to be consistent over a very long period of time
im pretty sure there has never been a bad player who has played 100 tests
I suspect their are load of 80-100 test match players that are pretty average test players.
Ishant Sharma could probably reach and be india highest seam wicket taker but he will never be close to being the best india seam bowler ever, Considering he not really that skill full or good, the only thing going for him is his height, Fitness and Accuracy for an indian bowler.
Sussexpop kind of name two players although I do kind of rate Atherton but know other think he is overrated over few special innings.
top of my head Nasser Hussain and most of England 90s players were average.
Amount of games Bell played shouldn't matter.
the fact is Bell fails away from home, Hardly scores any meaningful runs and fails when england need him most.
