The unfortunate thing is tickets were selling fast after the success at Lord's and now some people are making a long journey that otherwise wouldn't have come, only to watch it rain.

Can't do anything about the weather of course but it might make some think twice in future.

That's what puts me off. Of course the rain is nature, but the players, umpires are imo too slow in coming back on, unless of course they need to get the minimum overs in, before refunds are handed out.

Don't know about Leeds, but as well as the drizzle it's blooming perishing up here. Back into single figure territory. No good for cricket at all

according to Springwatch, as little as a few decades ago spring arrived 3 weeks later than it does now.

I think it probably feels obliged to start earlier, just to help the ECB out of the hole they've dug for themselves by playing nearly half the county championship season, when most sensible people are still wearing their vests and coats
