Apparently it's Westwoods thumb that is damaged and that is a painful place. This morning Joyce has been in the wars which require a change of shirt as it was covered in blood.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Well that win will hopefully buy us whatever our points deduction will cost. Sub standard pitch they say.... apparently its better to see 1500 runs and 11 wickets go down over 4 days, then a game go as close to either team as possible.
And as stated previously, if the pitch was dangerous, the match should have been called off and Warwickshire awarded the win..... it seems with Joyce being hit today also, that there are genuine concerns about the pitch quality.
I have no problem with an umpire calling a game off, but to punish for a dangerous pitch and allow a game to be concluded would send me to a very angry place.

It has to be relegated to poor for a deduction. Even then a deduction may or may not be imposed. Let's hope Tony remembers his roots!
