Walking wicket this season. As is Smith - hence Brooks being on a hat-trick.

Carberry and Ervine are the two big wickets, based on this season so far.

Two quick wickets. I was starting to get edgy. Ervine survives the hat trick.

Next wicket is a crucial one then Brendy.

Average inflated by 3 not outs, KP isn't even Surrey's leading run scorer (at the moment). That honour belongs to Steven Davies and has batted one innings less than KP.

Well, I did say it's not that meaningful. But at least it's ok. He's been asked to score runs for his county. He has little to prove as an international batter.

True to a point, but if KP is to be seriously considered for national selection then he effectively has to be the highest England qualified runscorer in County Cricket. Innings to runs ratio KP is not far away, but he needs to up the ante between now and the end of June to give the ECB a headache.

That's just another, new hurdle, erected just beyond the last one, and new hurdles will keep being added as he clears the last. I'm not expecting KP to return. But if questions are asked of him, I'm going to be interested in the response to his answers.

If KP was serious about playing for England again, he'd be top scorer in the CC.

If he was serious, he's score his runs in the CC1.

If he was serious about playing for England, he's have stood for parliament so the people could decide.

If he wanted to play for England he'd do more to find the Higgs Bosun.

If KP was really going to play for England again, he wouldn't be starting on a level playing field with any other county cricketer. He has 23 Test tons, and nine in ODIs.

But at least those who said, if he was serious about getting his place back, he'd score runs in the CC... won't have that as an argument any more. Though that was always a red herring, as he wasn't dropped for on field reasons, and he was told there was no way at all for him to get back in the side.

Anyway, this should be on a KP thread, so posters who've had enough of it could avoid the subject. Sorry.

Thank you. I can understand England-only cricket fans being heavily interested in how KP goes, but I'm slightly surprised (and bored) at the amount of county cricket fans who are taking such an in-depth interest (above and beyond the other goings on in county cricket). And that includes people who openly come across as being against the hype and general national interest - they're still spending their time talking about him!! (and on a county cricket thread)

I have nothing against county cricket fans discussing KP. But, as you say, on a separate thread.
