Great save, then he has another go. Silva may have won it.

Usually i support all British teams in Europe, but this goal has made me smile.

Chealksi have deserved this for their play, and their play acting.

Deserved equaliser, Chelsea have been pathetic from the start.

If they go out Mourinho must take a lot of the blame.

I must confess, I am confused. I thought that away goals didnt count in extra time? I was expecting penalties ( I watched it on my laptop with the sound off)

They've always counted in Europe but I'm sure there is a domestic competition where they don't, maybe play off semis or league cup semis, not sure.

I don't think they count in the play-offs.

I know they count full stop, but I was under the impression that when it went to Extra time, they stopped counting.... that is a ridiculously unfair rule, the other team has a huge advantage because a score draw in extra time means they always win, as to get to extra time the tie has to be level on away goals

I can't believe what I'm hearing....

David Luiz scored one of PSG's goals that knocked Chelsea out.

Is that the same David Luiz who Mourinho was telling us is useless?

Is that the same David Luiz who the entire English media was telling us is rubbish?

Is that the same David Luiz who English football pundits were telling us Chelsea made a deal, selling PSG a terrible player?

Surely not!

for £50M he was all of the above tbh

a goal last night doesn't change the fact he was worth nowhere near what PSG paid for him

£50M for a goal scoring defender, who has trouble with the latter, was about £25m too much. Dennis Irwin would be worth £70m, if Luiz is worth £50m.

exactly , if he had been sold for £20-25M no-one would have batted an eyelid

it was the size of the transfer fee that made it ridiculous

But offset by the fact that the home team has an extra 30 minutes at home.

He rarely scores as well so a world record transfer fee for a defender who can't defend and rarely scores was a fantastic deal done by Chelsea.

Chelsea didn't go out because Luiz scored, they went out because they played their most inept game of the season and got their tactics all wrong.

Yeah that him. The same guy who's woeful form at the start of the year could cost PSG a title, and has seen them already conceded more goals than last season by February. Interestingly, before Luiz was picked up by PSG, they won the league by 10 points with a brilliant defensive record.... this year they find themselves lagging to Lyon because they dropped so many points from niggly defensive errors. You could even argue that the only difference in the team they made was getting rid of Alex, a man that was first brought to high tier football by a certain Jose Mourinho, and replacing him in a successful defence with Luiz.....

The sheer magnitude of the Luiz deal was staggering in the context of French football. Lyon in 1st place haven't spent more than 2 million Euro's on a player for about 5-6 years, Marseille spend BIG this year (about 10 million pounds, which is less than Hull) but Luiz's transfer is still more than both of PSG's nearest title rivals have spent combined on incoming players for about 5 years, and more than the other teams in the league combined this year.

The equivalent would essentially be Man City or Man United spending 700 million on a player.... for that relative outlay, I would expect a defender to improve my defence, not lead it to conceded more than I had without in the year before, 3 months before the end of the year!

Btw, he should have been sent off for an elbow last night when his team were already down to 10, which was a brainless misjudgement that should of been a death sentence to his side. Brainless is the operative word with Luiz, simply plays all heart, no intelligence.

Maybe you didn't witness the Germany v Brazil game, where Luiz was made to look like he should be playing Vanarama Conference Level games
