might be wrong but I think morgan would be aware that the ashes and ODIs are two different things as well
all he was saying is there are players in the squad who have the experience of playing infront of full house crowds against Australia and know the sort of pressure and atmosphere to expect

Ah ok should have said that then instead of mentioning winning ashes series.

I know you think the ashes are massively over-rated bhav but those games, like playing in the world cup, do come with a different type of pressure and having that experience does help

A test batsman who can score at 55% S/R in tests should, with the fielding restrictions that apply in ODI games, be able to score at a much higher S/R and for those teams they do so.
What England need is someone in the dressing room who can motivate out batsmen to recognize this instead of just talking rubbish in public. Moores dosn't seem to me an inspirational type individual.

Four of our top seven are in our current test team, and Taylor must be close. We should in theory be able to score runs pretty consistently. As for behind the scenes, who know's what goes on in the dressing room? They might play Churchillian speeches for all we know. That said I would love Morgan to say 'We better improve or else'

Only 2 of them are specialist Test batsmen though. Anyways, England with their pace attack, should be disappointed if they do not make the semis.

10 years isn't the present, like the ashes isn't ODI's. More importantly they have of late, beaten us with ease.
Just questioning Morgan point of saying England got good memories of playing australia.
Since England record in odi after ashes is terrible and talking about test performances/ashes performances is one reason England are bad in odi.
They never seem to get odi and test are different formats.
