its been a cracking pitch to bat on AC , 5-7 did let us down , I think bell and root could have went for it a little sooner when they were going well , root especially

its not just been wicket taking threat, we have been unable to build pressure and force them to take any risks, been far too many poor deliveries and made it too easy to just milk runs off their pads for most of the innings

England will feel that this is another one that got away. Not very enterprising from the pace attack, didn't even try to change the angle by bowling around the wicket to right handers. Bowling at the stumps when there's no swing or seam movement is a gift for these batsmen.

Anderson did go around the wicket to the left hander marsh at the start of the innings after he had got off to a great start and did slow him down a bit

smith is just in amazing touch atm and I don't think it matters too much where you bowl to him , only bowler that consistently bowled a good line was finn and even he went for a few at the end

I wonder what the chance is of Bopara playing in the next game? I put him in my FL team as a wild card so that if he did well it separate me from most of the other teams. Well it's separated me in the wrong direction. On recent evidence we don't need the extra batsman we need an extra spin option so let's have Tredwell in for Bopara.
