Didn't realise you were James Faulkner!
If he doesn't bowl at the death he would be a good option at the beginning/middle overs.
Ishant is a underrated ODI bowlers especially outside subc.
Averages 20 in australia, 21 in england, 24 in SA only did *modded* in NZ.
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... pe=bowlingPlus Ishant sharma really impressed me in the first two test match in england, especially at TB his spell was incredible.
I actually hopes he gets the rewards and credit he deserves I feel sorry for him he get so much stick for his average but is not his fault he will always be in the top 3 best fast bowlers in the country.
Ishant sharma probably deserves a few good years with the ball just because of the effort he put's into his bowling he does all the hard work but never get's the reward or credit.
if all the bowlers in india had the same attitude/work effort india would have a million times better attack right now.
Munaf patel, Sreesanth and many others are all better bowlers than him but they all didn't put the effort in and most stopped playing cricket after 2-3 yrs.
Ishant sharma could actually play more matches than Glenn mcgrath which is crazy.
Most people would have quit in Ishant sharma shoes 20-30 test matches ago.
it was quite fun to take the piss out of Ishant sharma when he played less than 50 test matches but it getting quite boring and sad to see him bowl all day for no reward.
If he destined to play over 100 test matches for india he deserves a few good years with the ball.
If he does a Zaheer Khan I be so happy for him, Zaheer khan had a similar career to ishant sharma he was actually quite bad in test matches before 07 before having 4-5 good years with the ball.
Plus if Ishant sharma plays lots of test matches he need some good memories he really can't play 100 test matches and average 40 and not really do much with the ball all his career.
