Not sure Ashwin is the right man to bowl with those tactics.

saw a good tweet in 2011 out bowled by yuvraj, 2012-13 outbowled by jadeja and in 2014 Axar and jadeja bowled better than him.

you comfortable with a 7/8/9 of jadeja/patel/kumar ?

Are you really saying Ashwin would strengthen that lower order?

I don't really know a lot about patel as a batsman , that's why I asked a question rather than made a statement ...

Patel averages over 40 in FC cricket. Technically, Ashwin probably a slightly better batsman in the longer format at this stage but nowhere near as good a hitter. Patel has done well for the India A side as a finisher on the tour of Australia and some handy innings in the IPL. Ashwin is not really a limited overs lower order hitter. Has never been one. And is a mediocre bowler and a terrible fielder.

So yeah, Ashwin really doesn't deserve to be in the side based on any of the three facets of the game.

Yeah Dhoni said today india bowlers/Ashwin are not really great at hitting 6 and fours good at staying at the crease but not striking at a high strike rate which are often needed in the last few overs.
Ashwin great for a run chase though but not in the first innings.

Axar patel looks alright at 8 but 7 is too high for him at the moment but Jadeja would be the 7 when he fit and india only experimenting since jadeja got issues with his shoulder.

play with Axar and Jadeja even though they are basically identical bowlers? The bowling would be pretty 2 dimensional then 3 right arm seamers and 2 left arm spinners

problem is 2 of india best spinners might be left arm spinners.
Don't think india will play both of them together but was interesting that dhoni said he will do it if the conditions, oppositions allows them to do it probably was a wake up call to ashwin that he isn't guaranteed a spot unless he performs considering everyone though Axar is competing with Jadeja and not ashwin.

Ashwin been pretty bad in ODI for a long time barring the england games he just isn't able to take wickets and keep runs down even in home games.

IF dhoni policy and tactic is to choke teams with spin in the middle overs Ashwin need to perform far better with the ball especially since Axar patel been doing the job far better than he has and Jadeja a guaranteed pick because of his batting and he generally been india best spinner in ODI cricket in the last 2-3 yrs.

If dhoni tactic is to keep runs down with the spinners it might not really matter that both spinners are left arm spinners especially if both do the job better than the off spinner.

Looks like Warner picked up a 50% fine.

Haven't heard if Bailey is suspended due to over rate.

They were 26 minutes over, so I'd guess he'll miss Australia's defeat of England during the week.

England's batting looks flaky as soon as they face actual opposition rather than bowlers who can't even make their state sides. Meanwhile, Pietersen is in Australia being arguably the best batsman in the BBL (highest run scorer and average, only batsman to pass 50 3 times in the comp).

Madness.

My guess turned correct. Warner provoked Rohit unnecesarily as he admits. Then Rohit who is not someone to let it go replied in Hindi to which Warner asked Rohit to speak in English. I ussualy do not like when some of our players do MC BC but atleast against some regular offender like Warner needs to be replied strongly. Now i wonder what Warner must have got back from tailunt in hindi and also in English during his batting innings.Poor chap to pick wrong players for fight. Now i wont be surprisef if Rohit gives him back in English and few Indian languages as well even in remaining matches.

Joe Root, who has been invited to pontificate on Warner's behaviour, is no saint himself.

Saying 'speak English' sounds bad, but in context, it wasn't all that. They were having verbals, so no reason to see why Warner wouldn't want to know what was said to him. I still think he's a di.k though.
