Willey was the only player Botham wouldn't pick on. Many in that dressing room have said in autobiographies - especially Boycott - that Botham was a bit of a lad.

Just worried that complacency might set in heads of players due to playing England. Have India as favorites.

Also need to respect conditions and take most out of it. Can remove one spinner and replace with a pacer.

Not sure you'd replace a spinner against England.

maybe you should be respecting your opponents as well and not just assume that the only way you can lose is if you get complacent as you have said above because its "only England" ?

Respect will be there but playing England will bring less pressure imo than playing Australia.

There is very less spin on offer here. And both Axar / Ashwin are not big turners. But yes, like you say i won't be surprised if even Raina picks few versus England. so theoretically it may not be bright idea but practically things can be different. To add anything can happen in this game.

clubcricketeradi wrote:Warner :facepalm

TEMPERS flared in the one-day international at the MCG with Australian star David Warner confronting India’s Rohit Sharma about a cheeky overthrow and seeming to demand that he “speak English’’.

Who does he think he is because he speak English. Rohit Sharma knows to speak, read and write more languages than Warner. And showing language supremacy over Rohit. :facepalm Feel like giving him bad words now if allowed on this forum. Not only he showed what character he is when he punched Joe and other offences in matches, but he continues to be physically as well as verbally offensive. Now i think Rohit and Virat will do MC BC to him. Also get Praveen Kumar in team for sorting Warner on field.

I saw that - don't know what was said but it was pretty outrageous the fuss that Warner was making of it, and some of the other aussies as well. It turned the ball never touched Rohit's pads and the aussies seemed to be peeved that ind had got an overthrow more than anything else. Also, tbh I think they were trying to unsetlle Rohit who was batting well. The match referee should be takinga close look at it - the on field umpires were pretty pathetic, didn't appear to do anything.

We're playing England at Brisbane and Perth in.this tournament and if we do meet them in the quarters it'll be at Brisbane or MCG. Not Adelaide, not Sydney. I really don't understand the complacency. India are at best, slight favourites and I'm not even sure about that.

Brilliant innings from Nohit today btw on a pitch that wasn't too flat, scored more than 50% of the team total in a relatively low scoring match (by modern day standards). Almost chanceless, in fact, which is rare with him. Much better than.the 264 on a highway against club level bowlers.

Now for some consistency to get rid of the Nohit tag!

Surely the name 'nohit' is totally wrong? He's proved he can hit it, on a few occasions.

What about rohit 'no consistency' sharma?
