Great numbers, and stylish with it. Watched some of his innings this morning. Played the situation very well.

If you look at his record against top eight sides, it suffers a bit, but then so did SRT's. Here are figures for the past thirty years.

This is batting only.

It'd be nice to smooth out the 2000-2010 run spike to give the nineties batters their due. But either way, Sanga, as batter only is way ahead. ABDV doesn't benefit from not having the gloves.

Crowe's average against the top 8 sides is better by about 4. Most if not all the others have inferior records to their overall average. Looking again, Gooch's record improves by a a few.

I'm not sure the not-as-keeper stat for Sanga is entirely fair. This does him the service of ridding him of his earlier years when he wasn't as good, and delivers him to the records as a fully formed batter. But as he does well overall anyway, that doesn't have to matter so much.

On the other hand, he may be averaging around 65 he had never kept. I do though think he unlike me, has improved with age.

All square then. Are we going to get a game here? Thirty overs with an old ball now. NZ happy with 200 lead? Not going to get that are they.

Yes, but good fightback. A lot of catches dropped apparently.

I think NZ will get them out cheaply second time around, and win it.
