Patel or Willey would have been good options, although I would have gone for Rashid.
Sports broadcasting media nut miscast as a hard-working family man. Or should that be the other way around?

was just thinking the same thing , that someone like willey or rashid would have been a better squad option than another specialist batsman

Hales/Bell
Moeen/Bell
Taylor/Bell/Ballance
Root/Ballance
Morgan/Ballance
Buttler
Bopara
Woakes/Jordan
Broad/Jordan/Finn
Tredwell
Anderson/Finn

There are uncovered positions. Keeper is just a chance you take, and if Buttler was injured Ballance or Morgan would keep. But seven, and the spinner are important spot that aren't covered at all.

Didn't Root take over and do an OK job from Prior once?

Was it Root? I remembered it as Ballance, but I'm likely to be wrong.

I'm confused - which is not unusual. I thought there were going to be 16 players for the tri-series, with one then omitted for the World Cup.

The series with Australia and India starts after the WC squad has to be named. Of course, changes can be made for a while after that subject to injuries.

I can't see any press about an injury now.

No need to take two wicketkeepers or two spinners when players can get replaced in the event of injury.
