Pretty much the case. Just one other scenario I think.... we get 350+ so 7 bp and a draw for 12 points and Essex out for <300 so only 5 bp and max 21 and we shave promotion by 1 point.

You're right there Haggis, I must admit I had given up on the draw scenario getting us up after the morning session. But right now with the way they are batting they could get max batting points and Essex would have to get 350+.

Mind you Essex on course for 350+ right now, Worcs have put in a shameful display today.

Not sure we're going to get 350 now, which will put a draw out of the options.

Unless Essex collapse to under 250 all out which isn't looking likely right now as they are starting to motor. Worcs should be docked points for having a extremely dodgy bowler in their ranks for most of the season and being utterly pathetic in this last round of matches.

Means Essex need 300 now, could do with another big tenth wicket stand and a fifth batting point.

357 ao. That's probably OK. Hopefully we can rip through them with early morning dew tomorrow. And there's rain forecast for Chelmsford tomorrow.

So wait, Essex get bowled out without scoring another 102 runs and we're up as long as we can draw? Is that right?

Correct as long as we get max bowling points.

We drop Slug down to 7, and he scores two 100s in three innings - having gone more than two years since his last one.

I'll keep him down at no.7 next season please. Plus I have thought for a long time that he's probably our best batsman at batting with the tail.

Six Glammy wickets tomorrow and the title is on for us. Potentially we may only need three, if Worcs fail to take nine Essex wickets.

If tomorrow is a near or complete washout at Chelmsford, it'll be very interesting how Essex decide to proceed on day three. These four batting points of ours mean that Essex have to win now (although realistically they had to any way), so if time is taken out of their game then declaring early might come into their thinking. And that could deny Worcs max bowling points.

However at the same time, declaring early would almost certainly see Essex concede batting points. And to force us to have win to be sure of promotion, they need three batting points first. So really Essex simply couldn't afford to declare before they reached 300, should rain really play a part tomorrow.

As for us, well I'd have taken this score before a ball was bowled today. Now for our Achilles heel tomorrow though.
