Nervous isn't a strong enough word to describe the latter parts of days three and four.

Have to give a bit of credit to Tomlinson as well. His bowling was off but without those two stands he took part in we would have been down 7 points.

1. I have no doubts that had we won the toss and batted first, we would have won that game.

2. Why the hell didn't we send Tommo in ahead of Wood,Coles and Tahir, knowing full well the mission was block and he is the best we have.

3. If Smith isn't given his cap next week, I will be shocked.

Quite funny that the 2 best innings of our season both came in the same game, and we still nearly lost.

I'd place both of those innings above Vinces double, maybe unfairly.

This time in eight days time we could be champions of division two. Or we could walking into yet another season in division two.

I've not seen it announced yet, but surely Essex-Worcs will be Sky's live game next week. That game is massive.

They'll probably go with Lancs v Middx even though Middx are pretty much safe after their battling draw today.

Doubt it, they'll prefer a promotion story rather than a relegation one.

As much as they love showing Lancs, they love showing Essex on TV too.

Yes, Lancs are pretty much down already going into the last round of matches. Mind you have they ever shown a div two game before?

Looks like its getting more difficult to gain promotion to div one and then stay there because both the promoted teams from last year look like coming straight back down again.

Lancashire have had a right up and down few seasons. Champions of div one in 2011, then relegated in 2012, then promoted in 2013, and looking like they'll be relegated in 2014.

It'll take something very very special for us to stay up. 2011 was a miracle, at present we're slightly too strong for Div 2 and not good enough for Div 1. Losing Prince, Hogg and likely Chapple in the same season will be a body blow, coupled with Watkinson's focus on OT as a venue instead of a home ground for a Club it's likely to be fatal in the short to medium term.

When your solution to this impending issue is to blow what limited funds we have on Javis and Buck, you know the hampsters have left the collective wheel.
