Depends. If we win our last two games, then Worcs almost certainly have to win at Chelmsford. We probably wouldn't even need that many batting points to force them to have to win. Two lots of 16 win points and two lots of 3 bowling points (to win a game, more likely than not you've taken nine wickets within 110 overs) would take us onto 245. Ten points clear of Worcs now, with the same number of wins and one less loss. The maximum of you get from a draw is 13 points, so we'd potentially only need 3 batting points across those two games, if we win them both, to force Worcs' hand.

If only KP had played! :)

They would have lost by a bigger margin.

Carberry will miss our final two games with a hand injury, presumably the same one he had a few weeks back. Terry and Alsop both come into the squad (note, no Gatting - Benks/Adams/White have clearly learnt by now).

So those two will battle it out for Carberry's place - presumably with Terry winning - whilst one of the bowlers will make way for Tahir. Coles' performance with the ball recently might just have saved him, and it's possible that we wont want to risk another points deduction for producing a turning pitch - together meaning that Briggs becomes the obvious one to make way for Immy.

Just saw the news on the ECB website that Carbs wont play in either game.

Smith will HAVE to slot back in as opener, Dawson back to 3, Wheater to 5, then Slug&Terry at 6&7, in whatever order.

Got to be Briggs that misses out to Immy, dropping Coles would leave Vince potentially needing to bowl alot, can't afford to play only 2 frontline seamers ( Tommo and Wood )

Unless of course we don't play Terry ( or Alsop ) and replace Carbs with Tahir, and have an extra long tail, but that seems stupid, seeing as how we may need max bonus points, scoring 400 won't be easy as it is, let alone with Coles at 7.

We wouldn't pick Terry AND Alsop in the squad, if we were considering Tahir for Carberry as an option.

Also, Dawson's batting since his injury isn't yet good enough to allow us to go in with five batsmen plus Wheater.

It 100% has to be Briggs dropped, we can't play 2 seamers + Slug.

Yes that seems the right way to go. However sorry that Briggs has not made such a case for himself that Tahir could only play as a second spinner.

List of all Hants-Kent first-class results at the Rose Bowl. Kent have only ever won here once.

Have to remember to tune in from 10.30 this morning. Weather looks pretty reasonable for the first three days at least. Win the toss and bat bat bat.

Hope to be there tomorrow - hardly seen any live cricket this season & don't have Sky anymore so reduced to highlights on BBC South & Meridian sports bulletins!
Could this be Hampshire's final (ever??) home match in CC2?

4 potential innings for Smith to get the 15 runs needed for 1000 FC runs this season - first time ever apparently. Shame Carbs won't get 1000 runs as well.

Damn, Kent won the toss and elected to bat. Alsop in for Carberry.

I'm sure we would have done the same, but I suppose if the pitch is going to turn, fourth innings is the most likely.

Coles gets Key early, Alsop ahead of Terry is a surprise.

Has Tomlinson still got that ridiculous beard? Needs to shave it to change his wicket taking fortunes.
