Average of nearly 40. Always seems his reputation is based on junior cricket, even making allowances for injuries.

Shame to see Hogg forced to retire from injury, when on song he was an excellent bowler and a more than capable batsman. Will be very difficult to replace.

Hard to see Chapple playing on another season, Buck is a terrible signing, reminds me of Tahir.

I am not happy either with the Buck signing. Tahir had good stats and I don't know why he didn't play any f/c matches for Lancs

As long as it's a second division club so he should fit seamlessly back into the side when Lancs move down.

Should we go down, there needs to be a complete overhaul at OT. The coaching system simply isn't getting the best out of players, instead we just see a mountain of "talented" players who are not succeeding at LVCC level.

Watkinson needs to be gotten rid of, and god forbid Chapple becoming Coach.

It's grim, no doubt about that.

You could still stay up-Middlesex are having a shocker so could easily come a cropper against Somerset next week then lose to you in the last game.

While we could stay up, it doesn't change the fact that we need a serious rebuild if we are going to start competing with the top sides. Lancashire feels very much like an international venue first and a county side second at present. It is hard to understand why we have so much talent coming into the side with so little to show for it long term.

One of the reasons Yorkshire and Durham have successful youth policies is because there's a strong infra-structure of high standard and competitive league cricket who feed youngsters into their academies. Lancs also have,or certainly had, a strong league system so should be able to be equally effective. What sort of message, thiugh, is being given to their Academy prospects when the club sign the likes of Ali, White ands now Buck from outside?
