Now there's an idea, can we continue the match as a game of indoor cricket :halo: ?

( NOT including this weeks game )

Our partnerships : 71, 179, 8, 39, 69, 17, 23, 2 ,17, 0, 31, 0, 10, 110, 14, 75, 21, 32, 1, 66, 46, 117, 47, 57 = 1052 @ 43.83

Against us : 2, 24, 10, 21, 74, 3, 14*, 1, 4, 35, 47, 31, 31, 6, 21, 6, 9, 3, 4, 17, 5. 368 runs @ 18.4

Interestingly, we haven't reduced a team 0/1 this season, but also only once has a team passed 50, whereas we have 3 hundred partnerships along with 5 over 50.

Thanks for those stats SP - fascinating stuff!

Worcs have fallen from 126-1 to 144-4, still more than 200 behind.

Stumps, about 11 overs in the day. Should have two full days left, if we can bat big tomorrow there is a slim chance of victory on Wednesday.

Adams wasn't scratching around, I got that wrong.

Two ways to try and win this game off our own back, and the first session will no doubt determine that.

We either bat big - all the way through to about lunchtime on day four, maybe slightly earlier - and aim for a score of around 480 - 500. And then hope to skittle Leicester out inside two sessions.

Or we bat for a maximum of a couple sessions tomorrow, ignoring batting points in the process (whatever we get, we get), and then declare behind. Leave four, maybe four and a half, sessions to go in the match, and give ourselves a proper chance of getting ten more wickets. Obviously we'd be left with a target to chase, and potentially it could be out of our reach - 400 in 60 overs or something - in which case we'd have potentially foregone extra batting points ultimately for no reason. But if our first session tomorrow doesn't go so well, it probably becomes the only way of us maybe winning this game (unless we can agree something with Leicester). It's certainly an option that you could have seen Warne taking.

It all depends on what we want I guess. Are we happy with a high scoring draw, or not?

Worcs 197-6 with nothing much to come after this pair. They'll do well to get three batting points from here, and might not even make two. Every chance of Derby winning that game, which will mean back-to-back defeats for Worcs. Not so easy now without their beloved Ajmal.

I think we go for the former option, first target is 400 and maximum batting points then on to a lead of 150 to 200 approaching lunch on Wednesday. By the way Adams batted today, you would think conditions are good for batting, and with a weakish Leics bowling line up and better uninterrupted weather tomorrow we should have a realistic chance of getting a big first innings score. 13 points is our main aim at this stage and an extra 11 points on top of that would be a massive bonus.

Although they did comfortably win their first game without him.

You'd presume so. No one-day cricket filling up the fixture list. Nice damp, overhead conditions to bowl in.

Pretty pointless bringing him in for July, August and September.

Bates and Balcombe out of contract in the summer

Hope we keep Balcs, although he could go elsewhere and be a regular.
