Fine century from Westwood on his return from injury and very timely for Warks today as Chopra fails yet again in the CC.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

A bit of a mixed bag in the Scarborough Cricket Festival.

Shocking bowling from Yorkshire to begin with, lines all wrong in which Nash and Wells hit 21-0 off 2.1 overs and 40-0 off 5 overs. Once they departed, that New Zealander wanting to qualify for England (can't pronounce his surname so called him Frankie Cocozza) played a very scratchy innings to get to 53, but dangled his bat out for Bresnan in the 1st ball of a new spell.

Also Nash and Wells managed to run 4, an impressive feat on a relatively short pitch. Effectively a forward prod that went to deep extra cover, with a combination of excellent running between the wickets.

Steven Patterson bowled ever so well, running uphill against the wind. Then got a key wicket of Luke Wright who was smoking it all parts of North Marine Road, chopping on to his stumps.

Then Ed Joyce, who was in splendid in form tried to play at a long hop from Rashid in the final over and got trapped LBW. I think he wanted to get to Winking Willies Fish and Chip Shop after his hard graft at the crease.

Shell shocked as in thinking it's absolutely brilliant and want to come back again year after year.

A compact ground, so close to the action and spectators are allowed to play on the outfield during the intervals or inspect the wicket.

That settles it any where that has a fish and chip shop called Winking Willies deserves my presence.

Years ago I used to live in Bognor just around the corner from the Dinky Doo Diner. They used to do a lovely fry up.

Come to Hove sometime, you can always wander onto the turf there.

When I was a lad we used to take a bat and tennis ball and there was always a mad scramble for those wire litter bins to use as a wicket. Sometimes you'd see about ten mini games going on all over the outfield. And a group of parents clustered around the square as if they knew what they were looking at.

It would appear Boyd Rankin must have picked up an injury with England again as he's absent from the current game, can't imagine a fit Rankin would be rested. England's ability to injure fast bowlers is quite remarkable.

Splendid day for Yorkshire to be in a chance of winning, but it all depends how quickly Luke Wright departs tomorrow.

Yorkshire would have to play rather badly not to win this.

If only a certain Yorkshire all rounder was actually serving a ban for cheating, we might have stood a chance. It seems that wasn't to be, he was simply asked not to cheat again.

Let that be a lesson kids... chuck all you want, if you get found out, you can still play next match.
