Either there's a sound problem or there's a deathly silence in the ground! Sounds as if the game is being played to an empty house.

It was exactly the same when we successfully chased here a few back in the t20, also live on sky.

The Essex crowd only applaud their own.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

What did I say about the powerplay?

At least we've got the rate down to a level which allows Smith to just knock it around for a run a ball 30.

Seven of the last ten overs will have to come from a mixture of Ravi, RTD and Westley.

Shame we didn't send Slug or Coles in ahead of Smith with complete license, try and improve NRR.

I'm not thinking about NRR yet. Still far enough away from the victory target to mess this up.

Although if these rain droplets increase in number, it'll be game won. Way ahead on DL.

Interesting to see Vince batting down the order rather than opening.

I wondered if it had anything to do with Napier. He got him first ball just recently.

Or maybe we were worried that our middle order would look a little stale without Vince it in. You need hitters in the middle, to take advantage of the weaker bowlers with only four men defending the boundaries.

Told you. Our middle order has been so bad in limited overs cricket this season. We can rarely afford to go more than 3 wickets down.

Terrible innings by Ervine and an even worse decision by Malleder. Hit him outside the line and missing.

Dawson hasn't been able to buy a run since he got injured. So I have little faith in him here. Raining a fair bit more now. Can't afford to lose a wicket.
