We already knew. He was taken apart at Chelmsford when he played there at the start of last season. Just doesn't have the variations required for limited overs cricket.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

We must have a youngster that could use the game time ??

With only eight games, there really is every chance that NRR could be important.

It's pretty certain that 6 wins and 2 defeats will send a team through, and 3 wins and 5 defeats will send a team out. But a 5-3 win record, or a level 4-4, could very easily result in NRR having to come into play. And given that we lost yesterday, a 6-2 win record already looks unlikely for us.

This shows how crap our twitter is :

50 up for @Gmaxi_32, his first #Hampshire half-century of the 2014 season! 119/2 #LANvHAM

He scored a match saving 85 against Worcester in the Championship.

I said last year that I think Dawson is a better List A spinner than Briggs, and I stand by it.

Strangely although we got thrashed yesterday, I thought our first 10 overs was a really positive sign for the T20 coming up. Maxi coming off today clearly great news on all fronts. Need Vince to fire properly and we will be in business.
Apparently Carbs has a bruised hand - so should be ok pretty soon.
