I don't think Middlesex dangled a big enough carrot to entice Northants.

Wonder if Rogers mistakenly thought ( as I did!) Northants would be prepared to chase anything given their results thus far? Although captains ( especially in div 1) tend to be conservative with declarations & don't want to risk undoing 3 days of hard work by giving the opposition a chance.

Confidence is very low and being a batsman down I think Northants were unlikely to be too gung-ho.

Dropped I think, he's one of my favourite players, for obvious reasons, but also he's a really good guy who would make a fantastic coach I think.
