Great fightback by Woakes with the tail, just a pity he fell on 91 when his innings deserved to end with a century. Chris Wright batting like a demon on 61 as I write.

A few players use their middle name, not sure why though.

I use my middle name because my dad and I had the same first name so mum called me by my second and I'm more used to it.

not sure why the BBC scorecard lists him as Ian though, even if it is his first name.

Probably written by some 18 year old on work experience.

Maybe the tabloids complained about BBC getting the names right.

Maybe getting people who know what they are doing is a misuse of the license payers' money.

The BBC cards are very formal so they refer to Benjamin Stokes, Edmund Joyce etc. Not sure why!

Yes and they give SA players by their proper names, which can be entertaining.

I'd rather that than nicknames like "Freddie" Flintoff.

Would have been his maiden FC century as well. Somerset have given themselves a real chance to win.
Northants look to have saved their game against Middlesex by avoiding the follow on.

Porterfied out cheaply near to close of play, he seems to have reverted back to disappointing recently. Mind you Varun Chopra can hardly get going this season. Any victory might depend on Trott getting his mojo back but that's a tough call.
