I thought it was a different Trott when his name appeared the other day

clearly I need more coffee to wake myself up

A few players use their middle name, not sure why though.

I use my middle name because my dad and I had the same first name so mum called me by my second and I'm more used to it.

not sure why the BBC scorecard lists him as Ian though, even if it is his first name.

Yes and they give SA players by their proper names, which can be entertaining.

Porterfied out cheaply near to close of play, he seems to have reverted back to disappointing recently. Mind you Varun Chopra can hardly get going this season. Any victory might depend on Trott getting his mojo back but that's a tough call.
