We already do.

He is certainly going some way to resurrect his World Cup record. 2 in 2 so far.

Iran can be proud of their effort though. Boring as they might have been, keeping Messi and co at bay for 90 minutes is a herculean effort. Would take their defence over our jokers like Johnson and Baines anyday.

Extraordinary goal from Messi btw. Probably only the Cahill goal comes close.

Iran deserved a point for sure as they should have had a penalty, but I'm glad they didn't get a point tbh as their negative play deserved no reward.

Easy to forget that he was only 18 and 22 in the other World Cups.

Iran....
:salute
They should've got a penalty, and it took some Messi magic to eke out a 1-0 win.

Yes it was brilliant and one tends to overlook it when Messi is behind it as he always scores spectacular goals. I actually half expected him to do something like this.

Yep but he was already a Ballon D'Or winner (and a 2 time runner up) before the 2010 edition though. It was a disappointing performance from someone with his reputation, regardless of age. But he is doing alright here.

Felt a bit for them tbh. Might be a bit boring but good defending is a skill in itself (ask us England fans). Keeping Messi and co at bay for 90 minutes was a brilliant performance and it took freakish brilliance from Messi to beat them. Heartbreaking.

Yeah I was probably a bit harsh there. It was quite brilliant in some ways.

Think I might skip the Germany/Ghana match a go for a walk. Of course it'll probably be a humdinger of a match.

Excellent first half. Ghana have played really well, good in defence and have also come close to scoring goals, keeping Neuer on his toes. But the best goalkeeper in the world has been up to the task. Pretty evenly matched so far.

Just seen brief highlights of the Argentina game. Quality finish from Messi. Iran were unlucky not have a penalty though. The ref looked like he was way behind play, so a tough decision.
