I always think that if a player earns his points, then he deserves his points.

There does seem to have been a lot of toing and froing this season. Keeps me on my toes quite a lot.

The only thing that really worries me is if a player plays more than the allotted number of team matches as a result of moving to a team that is playing one week, from a team that isn't, and then back again, although I imagine that that is very unlikely.

A precedent was set with Sportbloggeradi in 2012 (Ajmal Shazhad) and myself in 2013 (Matt Coles and Kane Williamson) that the players selected scored points irrespective of who they played for.

I think for me it is not a problem if they are playing in the same division but changing division and gaining points seems funny?

Certainly seems sensible to me, although it may sound odd given the different divisions. We should follow the precedent.

if a player has earned his points, he should receive them. This equally applies in a match abandoned after 5 overs where half the players haven't even taken to the field. I applied this to the recent Glam/Gloucs game that was abandoned as NR in the T20.

I think the thing that rankles is that it is a different division. For me it would be like awarding the points earned on international duty to a player in the CC contest.

ok - seeing as BN has found the precedent and the debate seems somewhat divided, we should probably try to be consistent with precedent. Probably should update the rules to say that only points scored in that division count
