I am amazed he has a lower career SR than Jimmy Adams, and Jimmy has played about 25% more games than him too.

The key word there is career. Before last season, Carbs was pretty much a nothing limited overs player, tbf. Certainly before 2012 any way.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Jimmy Adams couldn't get the ball off the square before 2010 or so.

But isn't Carbs career split- a very moderate spell in his early career at Kent.

The thing is now if Carberry gets out for 10 of 20 balls he has just wasted 3 overs. With the strength in depth we have batting, we don't need him to mess around at the top

Kicked into life in 2009, with his opening partnership with Lumb. But yes, little before that - but I doubt he played many limited overs before 2009 tbh.

Lumb, Benham, Ervine, Pothas, Crawley etc generally made up our top three in those pre-2009 days.

Carbs seems to be a very complex & sensitive character but atm he could carry his bat for 20-25 in a T20!

Yeah, but the same thing can be said of Adams, who was only useful in our 4 day team for ages

The issue we're going to have now is that when Shah comes out, he is going to have to pretty much hit it from the word go, which isn't really his game. Just like it wasn't really Macca's.
