Early days yet, if Bresnan isn't picking up wickets he's tieing up one end and being perfect foil for Brooks and Plunkett. Difficult to say whether Bresnan is not up to full speed because Brooks and Plunkett are bowling very quick.

Its odd that NZ have allowed Williamson to play this game, but Chanderpaul went back to WI.

Personally I think NZ have made the right move.

Tim was bowling high seventies in the tv game. I acknowledge that he's keeping the runs down, but if he does play the season for Yorkshire, he's potentially a championship winning bowler. Still, three for him today, so that's encouraging.

I guess Tim won't play any further part in the game if he's going to join England tomorrow. Well done Peter Moores for allowing him to get some bowling in. Warks might wonder why Woakes didn't get the same chance?

About par for the course considering it was Bresnan's first game since the World Twenty20. If anything Bres needs to regain his length as he's still in the England mindset of bowling back of a length. I'm confident Jason Gillespie will work his magic and Bresnan will be a well oiled machine for the India series.

He was banging it in, but that's his 'heavy ball' length. Only really works though if you've got some pace behind it.

Looking out the window, there's no chance of any play at Headingley today.

In the interests of his fitness, perhaps Broad should give up test cricket too.

Yes, taking Lancashire's first three wickets in their second innings and returning figures of 7-3-9-3 was rubbish.

Going at 2.5 an over in the first innings, with Lancashire pressing for bonus points, was also pretty poor.

Warwickshire are 6 runs short of a third bonus point but the weather looks as if it may remain that way.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

If there is no play tomorrow between Middlesex and Sussex ( which looks likely ) and neither team gets any play, I think they should get 4 points points each ( half the amount available ), only getting the points from a draw seems harsh.
