Incredible that we picked Gatting ahead of him on Friday night.

2 of his 4s have been edged, 1 was all run due to poor fielding, he has hit 1 straight in the air that the fielder just missed and now hes been dropped.

Its great hes scoring runs and fast, and some shots have sounded terrific, but hes had more than his fair share of luck here.

I'm listening to the radio, so know where you're coming from. And it's not like I'm comparing Wheater to Chris Gayle.

But we picked Gatting ahead of him. Gatting.

Like I said, I doubt hes 100%, hes probably a little while away from being able to keep anyway ( although im more than happy for Bates to remain as a WK with Wheater batting ), but I thought the reason Wheater left Essex was because he wanted to keep, same as Buttler left Somerset.

Wheater caught behind for 57, acts like he didn't hit it.

183/4, I said if they could bat for 20 overs it would be interesting, partnership was 18.2 overs for 92 runs.

Days 3 and 4 don't have great forecasts, so Slug needs to pick up where Wheater left off.

Wednesday looks a pretty good forecast, Tuesday may have one or two interruptions but all in all should get enough overs in the match to see a result.

The only four day game to have been played at Grace Road so far this season saw first innings scores of 500 and 359.

So even if we do get a decent number of overs, a result still might not be a certainty.

And the t20 game here on Friday saw 197-4 play 170-7.

with Vince now on 69*, he has reached 600 runs for this season, and even if hes out now, will still average 100 for the season.

Vince has really struck a purple patch early on this season, really impressive.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.
