Gatting in at 3.

2 down shortly.

You were right, Adams gone for 40.

79/2 at lunch, Gatting 1*

Adams would have been under pressure after seeing who was at the other end, and his concentration wavered.

Given no Carberry and no Dawson, for me this was always just an innings about putting something half decent on the scoreboard, regardless of the run rate.

Is there a worse bowling attack in the division though ?

Shreck is decent but they have little else to cause real problems

Worcester are 121/1 against Essex after 27 overs.

We could do with that game being a draw as they are both title contenders, probably Worcs more of a threat than Essex, but wouldn't like either of them picking up too many points.

Gatting gone for 6, 91/3

please recover quickly Daws.

Vince and Wheater together now, 20 overs or so of these 2 could be interesting.

Have any announcements been made on his injury?

According to Kevan James , James Vince was quoted as saying "his biggest weakness is he finds batting too easy"

I really hope that is mis-quoted and he means when he starts to feel comfortable he gets complacent and throws it away, rather than "he finds batting easy"

Wheater and Vince have both edged a few this afternoon that have fallen short or gone between slips.

Wheater top edges 1, the fielder running back just can't get there, playing some good shots but living dangerously.

In other news, Benny Howell is batting at 8 ( eight ) for Gloucester, he would of been opening today if he stayed with us.

Wheater has had a solid start to the season, and has raced onto 40 here off 36 balls.

Incredible that we picked Gatting ahead of him on Friday night.

I don't think hes 100% fit, had either Daws or Carbs been available today I don't think he would of played.

Also, Wheater SR in T20s is only 98, 100 in List A and 70 in FC.

Whilst he is obviously an attacking player and the best is yet to come, hes hardly a proven matchwinner yet.

2 of his 4s have been edged, 1 was all run due to poor fielding, he has hit 1 straight in the air that the fielder just missed and now hes been dropped.

Its great hes scoring runs and fast, and some shots have sounded terrific, but hes had more than his fair share of luck here.

I'm listening to the radio, so know where you're coming from. And it's not like I'm comparing Wheater to Chris Gayle.

But we picked Gatting ahead of him. Gatting.

Shades of Barry Richards! If Vince becomes anywhere near the player Richards was it's going to be a great time watching Hants bat!

I'm sorry for Gatting as he doesn't mean to continually fail BUT McManus is waiting & I'm sure that like Howell he could well be off if he can't get in the side after 2 tons against a FC team.
