We're hoping so, although it looks like Abbot and Tomlinson are going to have to take the bulk of the wickets. Maybe Dawson can help out as the season progresses but i havent got much confidence in the rest of our seam attack.

There will be an early lunch at 12.30 at The Ageas bowl with a further umpires inspection at 1

Its not the rain thats a problem, I think its a very wet outfield after rain overnight.

We had a little but maybe not as much as Southampton. I thought these modern grounds had great drainage and whatever doesn't soak through the surface can be removed with various devices. Thought the days of water lingering on the outfield were behind us.

Forecast did suggest this.

No point declaring over night, now that it's an almost certain draw. Little choice but to continue on for batting points, considering that we're right in bonus point land.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

Looks like it should be a full days play tomorrow, still can't believe no play today, the old Southampton micro climate and all that.

Five an over to get the 400 and then hope we can pick up a couple of bowling points.

Gatting in prod mode to allow Vince to attack. Sadly he couldn't manage that for very long. Now Ervine and Vince can blast their way to 400.
