Impressive start to the season from Vince. If the bowers can back up the batting Hampshire look a very good side this year.

We're hoping so, although it looks like Abbot and Tomlinson are going to have to take the bulk of the wickets. Maybe Dawson can help out as the season progresses but i havent got much confidence in the rest of our seam attack.

Its not the rain thats a problem, I think its a very wet outfield after rain overnight.

We had a little but maybe not as much as Southampton. I thought these modern grounds had great drainage and whatever doesn't soak through the surface can be removed with various devices. Thought the days of water lingering on the outfield were behind us.

Forecast did suggest this.

No point declaring over night, now that it's an almost certain draw. Little choice but to continue on for batting points, considering that we're right in bonus point land.

we have 21 overs to score 62 more..although need to score them quicker to get more overs at Surrey.

Gatting in prod mode to allow Vince to attack. Sadly he couldn't manage that for very long. Now Ervine and Vince can blast their way to 400.
