I wonder if his desire to try and hold onto his test place has something to do with it, or if it's simply a case of him continuing him excellent form for us from the back end of last season.
And congrats to Jimmy.

Exactly as Powelly says. Carberry was up against them last year too. Didn't stop him having a shocking start to the season.
Different this year.

Long may he continue. If he knocks of a consistently good county year then surely he can force his way into the winter tours? Personally Id have picked him for the ODI team already.
Adam Wheater sustained a small fracture to his index finger while keeping during the second innings of the LV= County Championship match against Gloucestershire at Bristol.
He has been assessed and should return to cricket duties within 2-3 weeks.
Sean Terry unfortunately felt the full force of a quick ball from former Hampshire seamer Chris Tremlett late on Day 2 of the Second XI friendly against Surrey last week at Guildford.
The Second XI captain battled through the pain until the end of the days play but X-rays showed an elbow fracture which required him to take no further part in the fixture.
He has had further specialist assessment and will miss the next 6-8 weeks.
