The latest transcripts of the conversations between Gurunath Meiyappan and Vindoo Dara Singh indicate that almost half of the matches of the last edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League were fixed. Gurunath and Vindoo are heard discussing placing bets on the match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on May 12, 2013. Gurunath tells Vindoo that CSK will score about 140 and Chennai ended up scoring 141.
:facepalm

During the match, Gurunath placed bets of Rs.1.4 crore against CSK and confidently told Vindoo that Royals will win. In a conversation at 21:09 on May 12, 2013, stating that he has already placed bets of Rs.20 lakh, Gurunath asks Vindoo to place Rs.30 lakh more on Rajasthan.

He says: "RR is winning pakka."

Before the start of another CSK match, on 14 May, Gurunath and Vindoo discuss team information - where Vindoo says: "LB, Holder, Bravo, Hussey." Then Gurunath says, "No other change, no other change."

Another conversation on May 14 reveals that Gurunath gave information to Vindoo on team composition, weather and toss before the CSK-Delhi Daredevils match.

Former Tamil Nadu Superintendent of Police (internal security), G. Sampath Kumar, who had earlier in his report claimed that Dhoni reportedly was party to a deal with Gurunath and a bookie named Kitty, told HEADLINES TODAY that Gurunath had approached Dhoni and Raina on a bookie's insistence.

"There were reported meetings between Vikram Aggarwal and Meiyappan. Vikram asked Meiyappan to talk to a few CSK players and Meiyappan approached Dhoni and Raina in a party," Sampath said.

I wonder what's happening with the Pakistan three. I think Amir's ban expires next year.

Have to see if he can come back from 5 years without a game. He won't play for Pakistan again though. Getting visas for someone with a criminal record would be a nightmare. How would Pakistan feel about touring a country that wouldn't allow one of its players in? It could lead to a lot of bad feeling. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Some countries have specific visas for sporting teams, I think most would simply require proof they are travelling with a team... not sure though, interesting point.

I dont believe Pakistan will ignore him. If the talent is still there they have to pick him really.

I don't think Amir will get a chance.Every time he under performs (whether willingly or lack of form) there will be suspicions and it will affect the team as a whole.Secondly, he is out of international and domestic cricket for enough time now so he won't be the same bowler.Selectors also will get severely criticized for picking a ex spot fixer.

Supreme Court has mentioned that Srini should step down so that a fair probe can be conducted regarding IPL fixing. Allegedly some CSK senior cricketers are involved along side Srini's son in law Gurunath Meyippan who was indicted in betting. The court panel also mentioned that if he does not steps down then within 2 days then they will pass an order and replace him with some other administrator of their choice.

The Justice Mudgal Committee on Monday indicted Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief N. Srinivasan, of betting and spot-fixing during the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year.

The committee, which submitted its 170 page report to the Supreme Court today, has alleged that Meiyappan was involved in spot-fixing and betting on matches.

When my company in 1970 chose to send me to Kuwait to supervise a construction project a requirement demanded by the Kuwait government was a certificate declaring I was not a criminal. Britain refuses to issue such certificates but a kind man at the Consulate in Amsterdam cobbled up a letter that was excepted.
So if other Gulf states have similar requirements, Amir hay not be allowed into Dubai and Abu Dhabi where Pakistan play their home games.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

And Amir's criminal record would be for the act that he is asking to come into the country to perform.

The Supreme Court has proposed sweeping changes to the BCCI, including Sunil Gavaskar or a "seasoned or respected cricketer" replacing N Srinivasan as the board's chief and suspension of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals from the IPL. The suggestions were made as a proposed order to the BCCI counsel during hearing of the case on Thursday; the board has been asked to reply to the proposals on Friday.

The court also proposed that employees of India Cements, of which Srinivasan is managing director, and which owns CSK, not be part of the BCCI set-up.

Today, it has been decided that CSK and RR will not be sacked. Srini is out of BCCI now.

From CI
Sunil Gavaskar will head the BCCI in respect of its IPL functions, and a vice-president of the board will carry out other duties, the Supreme Court has said.
